Howard Justus, CPA Andrew Whatnall, CPA
Tom Scheidt, CPA, CIRA Mark Bonner, CPA

Mr. Howard Justus, CPA is a founding principal of the DACA companies and serves as its Managing Director. Mr. Justus is a Certified Public Accountant with over fifteen years of experience working with troubled companies including acting as a Chapter 11 bankruptcy trustee and a Bankruptcy Court appointed Examiner and providing expert testimony for debtors and creditors regarding the feasibility of plans of reorganization. Mr. Justus spent the first seven years of his career working for the international accounting firms of PricewaterhouseCoopers (formerly Coopers & Lybrand) and Laventhol & Horwath. Mr. Justus is a past board member of the San Diego Bankruptcy Forum and a member of the Accountants Insolvency Association and the America Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Mr. Tom Scheidt, CPA, CIRA is a principal of DACA. Mr. Scheidt received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Accounting) from San Diego State University in December 1986. After graduation, he worked for the national accounting firms of Laventhol & Horwath and Deloitte & Touche. In 1989, he became a Certified Public Accountant. For eight years, Mr. Scheidt worked as the Chief Financial Officer of a California licensed and regulated vision care Health Maintenance Organization.  Serving in this position, he helped lead the company into the top 100 optometry practices in the United States as reported by 20/20 Magazine (a Johnson Publication). Mr. Scheidt joined the DACA companies in 1998. In May of 2001, Mr. Scheidt received designation as a CIRA (Certified Insolvency and Reorganization Advisor) from the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors.

Mr. Andrew Whatnall, CPA is a principal of DACA and has been employed by the company since inception. Mr. Whatnall is a Certified Public Accountant with over ten years of experience in bankruptcy and insolvency. Prior to joining the DACA companies, Mr. Whatnall was an accountant with the firm of Bocuzzo and Justus, a firm that specialized in bankruptcy and insolvency consulting. Mr. Whatnall was also employed by Wells Fargo Nikko Investment Advisors, one of the nation’s leading institutional investment management firms. Mr. Whatnall is a member of the California Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Accountants’ Insolvency Association, the New Zealand Society of Accountants, and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
Mr. Mark Bonner, CPA has been employed by DACA as its controller since 2002. Prior to joining DACA, Mr. Bonner was a regional controller of SOS Staffing Solutions, Inc., controller of Green Horizons Landscape, and senior accountant for Nelson Communications, Inc. Mr. Bonner started his career as an accountant with the accounting firm of Kelly, Massad, Inverso & Co.  Mr. Bonner received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Accounting) from San Diego State University in May 1989.
